What are the characteristics of steel structures?

Steel structural components are easily manufactured at the factory and assembled on site. The mechanized manufacturing of steel structural components in the factory has high precision of finished products, high production efficiency, quick assembly speed on site, and short construction period. Steel structure is the most industrialized structure.

4, good sealing performance of steel structure

Because the welded structure can be completely sealed, it can be made into a high-pressure vessel with airtightness, good water-tightness, a large-scale oil pool, and a pressure pipeline.

5, heat-resistant steel structure is not fire-resistant

When the temperature is below 150°C, the properties of the steel material change little. Therefore, the steel structure is suitable for a hot workshop, but when the surface of the structure is exposed to heat radiation of about 150[deg.] C., heat shields are used for protection. When the temperature is between 300°C and 400°C, both the strength and the elastic modulus of the steel significantly decrease. When the temperature is around 600°C, the strength of the steel tends to zero. In buildings with special fire protection requirements, steel structures must be protected with refractory materials to increase the fire rating.

6, poor corrosion resistance of steel structure

Especially in wet and corrosive media environment, it is easy to rust. General steel structures should be rust-removed, galvanized, or painted and should be regularly maintained. For offshore platform structures in seawater, special measures such as "zinc block anode protection" are required to prevent corrosion.

7, low carbon, energy saving, green, reusable

Dismantling of steel structures will hardly generate construction waste, and steel can be recycled.
